The school has a certified lay principal with a staff of qualified, dedicated laypersons committed to Christian formation and educational excellence. St. Rita School recognizes the shared responsibility of parents, students, professional staff, pastor and parish priests, community members and parishioners in the educational program. To facilitate this process of co-responsibility, the following structures exist:
The St. Rita Board of Education is advisory to the pastor and principal. The board is established to serve as a resource to the principal in the implementation of archdiocesan policies and to formulate policies on the board level. The board works in close association with the principal, but the principal is accountable to the pastor, not to the board. The areas in which the board has responsibility and will be consulted include planning, finances, and public relations.
The Home & School Association is an organization of parents and faculty that supports the school through volunteerism and fund raising. The principal and one faculty member serve as school representatives on the board. The objectives of the St. Rita Home & School Association are to:
The 2001 St. Rita Home & School Association was recognized by the Council for Catholic Schools Cooperative Clubs (CCSCC) as the outstanding club of the year for the Archdiocese.
The Dads’ Club is an organization of men who serve St. Rita Parish and community. Since their founding in 1954, they have assisted the parish and school in many areas, including maintenance of the physical plant and social and cultural activities. They are well-recognized in the community for their outstanding baseball program. The Dads’ Club is instrumental to the parish and school because of their continuous support and dedication to its programs.
